Starting off ‘The Mycelium Log’ with a scratch off of my bucket list this past August!
I strolled past a large decaying log in Joe’s Bush (Rodney, ON) and peeked over it, catching a glimpse of the elusive Ghost Pipe mushroom (Monotropa uniflora) hiding behind.
I studied it for a long time (also letting it sink in that I’d finally seen this beauty in person after keeping an eye out for 7 years! I had to do a triple take after peeking over the log.)
It’s translucent petals were stunning in the nearly sunset lighting.
